Source: www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2011/09/20/corsair-announce-the-vengeance-range-of-per/1

Corsair has just unveiled its new range of Vengeance-branded gaming peripherals. The range is due to be made up of a number of keyboards, mice and headsets, all of which should be hitting the market soon.

The most eye-catching products in the range are the pair of mechanical K90 and K60 keyboards. Both use Cherry red switches, which Corsair claims offer advantages over the more traditional Cherry black switches thanks to their reduced actuation force, which makes double tapping easier.

The K90 will be targeted at MMO players and features a bank of 18 macro keys, along with an ergonomic full-sized wrist wrest. The K60, on the other hand, is aimed at FPS players and features a unique left-hand-only wrist wrest, as well as a set of optional contoured WASD keys. Both keyboards also boast a solid aluminium exposed chassis and up to 20-key rollover.

The FPS/MMO theme is continued with the two mice - the M90 and M60. The M60, which again is targeted at FPS players, features a special Sniper Mode button, which ratchets down sensitivity when pressed before returning it to normal levels when it’s released.

Meanwhile, the M90 is designed to team with the K90 for MMO players, and features nine macro buttons placed around the thumb area of the mouse. These, Corsair claims, have been placed to be intuitively easy to reach, but just far enough out of the way to avoid being pressed by accident when just browsing the Web. Like the keyboards, both mice feature an aluminium chassis, and they also have a 5,700dpi laser sensor.

In comparison to the mice and keyboards, the new headsets look fairly standard. There will initially be three SKUs in the range (the 1100, 1300 and 1500), each of which will be aimed at a different segment of the market.

The 1100 will be a behind-the-head-style headset, which is intended to be affordable while still offering good audio quality for those that don’t want to break the bank for a gaming headset. The 1300, on the other hand, offers a more premium design, with full circumaural ear cups and large 50mm drivers, which are powered through an analogue 3.5mm jack for those with a discrete sound card.

Finally, at the top of the new range is the 1500 which, like the 1300, is a full circumaural headset. It also brings Dolby Headphone 5.1 Surround Sound support to the party, though, along with a USB connection.

The all look pretty sweet. I'm going to wait for some review before I even think of buying.

i got the Corsair CA-9011112-WW Vengeance 1500 Gaming Headset, wonderful wonderful.. BUT.!!! IF YOU HAVE A LARGE HEAD DONT EVEN THINK OF GETTING THIS HEADSET. it fits real good if i wear it backrards, i'd rather be water boarded than wear it front ways, actually it isnt so bad when your head goes numb from the pressure points. the top pad rests at a 45* angle on my head, the ear pads have an intollerable pressure. wasted my money on this one, my hat size is 7 1/2.

having said that... the first BC2 game i played with it i shot 5 trying to knife me from behind.. previously i never heard them comming.. this is a great, no.. terrific!! headset if you dont have a big head or big ears.. but the ears will go numb after 10 or 15 minutes and it isn't so bad. after playing a couple weeks with it it's better, i guess my ears are getting callosed.
even if the meek do inherit the earth, they still wont be able to turn left in trafic..

Logitech for all my gaming needs except head sets. As for the Corsair head set it's only USB which sucks for me. I use a X-fi Titanium sound card with my Logitech 5.1 and a Tritton 5.1 PC gaming head set. Would love to try something new but when they all go USB it's BS. On board sound doesn't come close to what my sound card offers. Mainly with my 5.1 speakers. Only way I could get the best sound out of my speakers would be to buy a receiver and run optical. Maybe one day when I feel like it but not any time soon.

My only option are these but damn the price is what scares me. Still doing some research even though I have a friend who owns them. Sound is amazing but not sure if I can justify spending that amount.

Yup I posted before I knew anything about mechanical keyboards. Corsair is using rubber domes (yuk) on the F keys to save cost. It's already over $100 so you might as well spend $15-30 more and get a good established keyboard. Rosewell makes mechanical keyboards ($100, $80 on a sale) that are exactly the same as a $150 Filco. The only thing about the Rosewell is that it doesn't come in a TKL version. Anyways I'd recommend a WASD Keyboard. They make high quality keyboards at a reasonable price.

If you need anymore help with picking out a mechanical keyboard just PM me or post here. BTW mechanical keyboards are SO much better than rubber dome IMO
